ISD Challenge 2020

This project was part of an interview process for a position as an Instructional Systems Designer.

This project was part of an interview process for a position as an Instructional Systems Designer.

Scenario: We have a new project that we need some help with. We have been contacted by the client advising  they need to turn their Instructor-Led Training (ILT) into a distance learning course to be delivered on an  LMS, which is self-paced.

Time in development: You have 3 days to accomplish this. Your final delivery should include a cover page that includes your  name and contact information. It should also document your learning methodology and Bloom’s  Taxonomy level; a list of assumptions you made while creating your storyboard; and anything else you  would like for us to take into consideration as we evaluate your work.

My role: Instructional Designer

Tools used: Microsoft PowerPoint

Challenges:  Attached is a PowerPoint presentation we have received from the client on one of the lessons. There are  no notes for this lesson and it is one of 14 lessons. Your challenge is to:

Develop the lesson objectives for this lesson
Develop an outline/topic list for this lesson
Create a storyboard of at least four slides to show:
How you would introduce the lesson
How you would present the objectives
An interactivity for some of the content in the lesson
A summary of the lesson

Results: Each storyboard slide should include programming notes, navigation directions, and narration text. You  are free to research topic and use any additional information or graphics you think will support the content. You are also free to use whatever storyboard template you like.

Timelines are very tight on this project and we have an estimated 6 to 8 weeks  to deliver the project.

You will probably have some questions that you would want to ask the client in order to complete the  assignment. Since that is not possible in this scenario, we ask that you make any assumptions that you  need to, as long as these are documented at the beginning of your final delivery.
